Biography

A native to the San Francisco Bay Area and currently residing in Los Angeles, artist Crystal Sylver, has studied a broad range of art including drawing, painting, illustration, blown glass, stained glass, photography, jewelry design, and fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She concluded her thorough art studies at the International School of Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture under the Master painter and teacher, Israel Hershburg in Umbria, Italy.

Inspired by Fashion, Art Deco, Egyptian Art, beautiful women, and sensuality, as well as by her travels through ancient cities of the world, her work is an exploration of life — past, present, and future. Drawn to the mystique and power of icons throughout the ages, her emotional and erotic figure paintings are an expression of life, love, and beauty. Her current medium is oil, and metal leaf on wood and canvas. She exhibits frequently and is commissioned for portraiture work.
